🖥️ Step-by-Step: Email Client Setup
Microsoft Outlook (Windows / Mac)
1. Open Outlook → Go to File → Add Account.
2. Select Manual setup or additional server types → Click Next.
3. Choose POP or IMAP (IMAP recommended). Enter details:
Email Address: username@roadrunner.com
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming mail server: imap.roadrunner.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.roadrunner.com
User Name: username@roadrunner.com
Password: your account password
4. Click More Settings → Outgoing Server tab → Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" → Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
5. Go to Advanced tab → Incoming server (IMAP): 993, Use SSL/TLS. Outgoing server (SMTP): 587, Use TLS. Click OK → Next → Finish.
Apple Mail (macOS, iPhone, iPad)
On Mac: Open Mail app → Mail → Add Account → Select Other Mail Account → Enter Name, Email, Password → Click Sign In (or Manual Setup).
Manual Configuration: Set Incoming Mail Server: imap.roadrunner.com (Port 993, SSL). Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.roadrunner.com (Port 587, TLS).
On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account. Fill name, full email, password, description "Roadrunner". Tap Next → Select IMAP. Enter:
Outgoing Server: smtp.roadrunner.com, Port 587, TLS
Username: full roadrunner email
Password: account password
Tap Next → Save. Ensure SSL is enabled for security.
Android (Gmail App / Samsung Email)
Gmail App: Tap profile icon → Add another account → Other (IMAP). Enter full email and password. Then configure manually:
Port: 993
Security type: SSL/TLS
Outgoing server: smtp.roadrunner.com
Port: 587
Security type: STARTTLS
Require sign-in: Yes (same username/password)
Samsung Email: Open app → Add account → Manual setup → IMAP. Fill identical server details and authentication. After validation, sync folders.
Mozilla Thunderbird
Launch Thunderbird → Create new account → Email. Enter your name, full email, and password. Click Configure manually.
Incoming (IMAP): imap.roadrunner.com, Port 993, SSL/TLS, Normal password.
Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.roadrunner.com, Port 587, STARTTLS, Normal password.
Click Re-test to validate. Ensure authentication uses the full email address. Thunderbird will complete setup automatically.
